Fx6 filter
Fine sand with small gravel mix substrate
Large driftwood
Large smoothe rocks

Stock: 1 young male GT

I want an ACTIVE catfish that can live for life in my 75g with my GT. Cannot by shy.

Does such a catfish exist??

Thanks!

I'm not real sure, I just know they max out around 12". I had a nemurus that didn't get over 16". I think there are three stripe and four stripe pictus. I don't want to give you bad info, because I have never owned one, and i really don't know. if you found a nemurus your green terror may eventually become a meal. my nemurus lived with a jack Dempsey for about 8 months and then one day I went into the room with the tank and notices the jd tail sticking out of the cat fishes mouth.

Some synodontis get nice and larger, they can however be shy in bright tanks. Dark substrate, backgrounds and dim or diffused lighting can help, as well as some structure to move along.

Be prepared for the extra water changes though

4 line catfish gets around 10" in the aquarium and are not really social. They tend to just sit around. I had 3 and all they did was fight so I got rid of 1. Now the 2 remaining ones each have their own corner. The pictus that was mentioned above only maxes out at 6" and is a better choice. More active and will spend most of the time swimming around. They do prefer to be in a school. I had a group of 9 in a 75g and they did fine with my pair of jags a few yrs back. Hope this helps.

You say they prefer to be in groups bit is this a requirement for them? Or more of an option?

In groups do they form their own territories? Fights within the group or any of that?

I want to keep my tank peaceful for sure.

What about synodontis species? Could these guys work?
As I said maybe. If they feel secure they are said to be outgoing. I only see mine when there is food or lights off, otherwise under the wood
