What Catfish Is This?

I have seen one of these cats at a LFS going for $200. The owner was upset that it ate a Lukanini of the same size and refuses to eat small feeders. I was told that this is a cross btw RTC and a channel catfish, anyone heard of this?

I don't know who told you that, but that couldn't be any further from the truth... Species name is Asterophysus batrachu, the fish only get's 11" and looks nothing like a rtc or a channel.... Check out planetcatfish.com's cat-elog http://www.planetcatfish.com/catelog/species.php?species_id=961

It is a unique species. I highly doubt that a rtc and a channel catfish can hybridize, but when it comes to hybridization I have already been proved wrong once with the tsn x ripsaw hybrid. This species is definitely a unique species and not a hybrid.
