Okay, for my 6' by 6' tank, (which is going I be 3 or maybe 4 feet high, haven't decided yet) I'm planning on 5 rays. A pair of marble x motoros, a pair of hens, and a female tiger, that I may or may not try to mature and stabilize in a separate tank. Anyways, back to the real question. What color background do your rays look best on? Bare bottom, sand?

Post a pic of the tank.

Tell the species of ray.

Tell the color of background.

Tell whether or not you have any substrate, and of you do, tell what it is.

I always think sand with black back ground looks best. Good lighting to show then off when needed and less to run all the time

I love natural colour sand with a jewel rock background

Wouldn't recommend tahitian moon it is very light and can be a little sharp although I had no problems with it for the year I had it with rays and geos I could not wait to upgrade tanks and use a different sand

Of all the combos I've tried, blue bottom/white sand has been the best at bringing out the color of multiple species. They all look good on it. Black is great for a black ray tank but any other species' pattern will suffer. White sand alone will wash out blackies.
