What cichlid got you obsessed with cichlids

A super green texas, H. carpintis var. Escondido was what started me on a cichlid craze. Before that I got two red forest jewels but wasn't that crazy. Ever since I got my SGT my room's been filling up with more and more cichlids...

I was keeping tropical fish, swords, platies, stuff like that. I was looking for something different and the fish store owner showed me these small gray looking fish. Said they didn't look like much now, but this is what they turn into. Showed me a picture of a rainbow cichlid. Within a year, I had nothing but cichlids, green terrors, severums, blackbelts, geophagus species. Worked up to trying a dovii, a bay snook and a huge hybrid jaguar. Just not all 3 at the same time!
