IMO convicts are pound for pound the toughest cichlid not to mention their seemingly psychotic mentality.

I would say Butterkoferi but you would be best served asking that question in the african section

I have 5 red bellies all 4". Gave them a 2" convict for food...The day after he's chasing the rbps all over the tank. So I waited till they get really hungry, I was thinkin they'll get em. After 2 days they killed one of their own. they'd rather cannibalize then get the convict. Talk about aggression on the convict's part eh.
