What Cichlid is this?

FYI, Malawi Eyebiter is an old and misleading name. Most experienced African hobbyists laugh when we see newbies/rookies posting about "the dreaded eyebiters". I agree with Pablo Tepoot (author of Cichlids: The Pictorial Guide volume one and two and owner of New Life Spectrum Foods) that Malawi Playboy would be a much better name. I have a 10" male who tries to mate with ANY female of any species (even Lake Tanganyika species). He's just a crazy, yet beautiful, H-dog. As far as agression goes, it varies. I've got a 4' male that rules over fish twice his size in one tank while my 10" male is often "out-flexed" by a F. rostratus or one of my 3 C. borleyi males. Btw, most fish are "eyebiters" , the eyes are the first thing eaten on dead fish since it is the easiest to chew. Anyone ever set up a biotope with Valisneria and watch this fish hunt. It's pretty cool as the head is pointed down and the body does look like a blade of grass until some little feeder guppy goes under. I have a black thumb when it comes to plants and plastic Val just doesn't work.
