yep either one you want Tb or the tetra would be fine.

no the bioload would be fine assuming you have decent filtration.

so what is the filtration going to be ??
i have an aqua clear50 HOB

Ive kept a pair of cons with the M being about 3 inch and the F about 2.5inch comfortably in a 20 gallon with an AC HOB rated for a 30G tank with weekly 30-50% Wc's. Can be easily done.

In a 20 long. A pair of Cons easy. I kept a breeding pair of 6 and 4 inches in a 20 long for years. With adequate filtration they are not bad on the bioload and the long gives the female plenty of space to get away. I would go A male con and a firemouth, or a pair of male cons. If you want fry then a breeding pair. You have several options in a 20 long.

are you sure a firemouth and a convict would fit? I wondered if females were less agressive? I was going to get one or 2 female cons and have a school of tiger barbs or serpae tetras. I do not want fry i wanted females because they are prettier than the males

You could do two females and a school of barbs in a 20 long.

a female con should be good.
