What cichlids to put in a 30 gallon? *newb*

While all these suggestions are nice, keep in mind that you can't put them together. If you go with Mbunas, you need to stick with only them. Convicts would be nice, easy to breed too. Same with the kribs. With Mbunas though, you can keep a lot more than the other two. A shell-dweller tank would be sweet too 
I think you could get some apistos for a tank that size, they stall pretty small, and there are some pretty nice looking ones 1 male 2 females(maybe more?) get some cories or a bristle nose pleco

Yeah the Salvini's are beautiful. Same with the neolamprologus leleupi's. And i was thinking about a corie as well. I like those little fish! Great suggestions, Im still still debating on the options lol. So hard to chose...
Another thing, How many do you think could be housed for life in there? Im thinking just a pair..

I've always liked the sals, I would think a pair would do nicely in a 30, they can be pretty aggressive, so it may limit your options for other fish to go with them (I wouldnt dare put cories with my 6" convicts), and you might want to have a divider ready
you could maybe put in a school of 6-10 tiger barbs with them, and a small pleco
(just so you know I dont own salvini, cant promise this will work, just suggestion)
