Is there a general popularity for a certain pattern variation over another? On another post I read our beloved Ewurm say that saddlebacks dont command that much in terms of price.

Is there an order of pattern variations + the price? for example.

1. spotted = most $$
2. jigsaw
3. so on and soforth, etc.

'Special' clowns have pattern mutations.

Common.

The oddball patterned clown loaches are the same price as the regular clown loaches at all the LFS I've been too.

Dont forget the one and only albino....

That's cool that my loach was used for the rare loach up above. :D

I have had some nice offers for this guy here, the "V" loach....

Here is my experience, two possibilities:

1. A store never has oddballs, there is a loach keeper working for the store that snags them all.

2. There are no loach fanatics at the store so no one cares and they are the same price.

I think the oddballs are worth more and I will pay more. My favorite are the spots, but I am still looking for a "Naked" specimen, with no stripes. I also have one with 4 bars, one with very thin bars, a couple puzzle piece types, one with symmetrical spots on each side.

My only oddball clown is a 2"er with large, identical spots in between the 2nd and 3rd strips. I really want a clown with a broken bar.

I would pay a premium price for oddball patterns also but have never seen that to be the case.

The spot loach in my sig is my favorite out of my little pack of loaches. It has the spot on one side (as you can see) but the other side has a broken bar/saddle back pattern, i can never get pics of the broken bar side though because of the current going in the wrong direction :) Id have to move 2260's spray bar to the other side of the tank to get a good pick
