? What color is the best tank background ?

As the title states "What color is the best tank background and why?"
The reason I'm asking is I'm getting ready to set up a new tank and although most of my fish are silver , the black background on my exsisting tanks suites them nicely.

What I'm not happy with is my Uaru's in a dark tank , with a black background ,they just seem to disappear, (regardless of the lighting) which is a shame. Because as the are growing thicker and larger they are become more magnifcent looking every day....

Anbody do a two tone theme? Let's here and preferably see pics of your tanks, help me deterime which color will be the background for my new tank...

I like a solid blue background. Why? That's just what I like.

My favourite bg right now is like neon... but I have bettas and nothing else, so colours work well. If it has to be black... maybe black and ocean green? Or black and gold? Maybe more coppery... or red, red could be cool...

I'm a design student, but I don't know enough about any kind of fish other than bettas to be able to picture this tank... and I don't know what else you have in it... so I'm really just running on colour theory here.

Looks like black or blue? How do you think the uaru's would look with blue? light or dark.....maybe a green?

I have two tanks now that have a black background when you go to take a pic of the Uaru's they look too dark almost as they are blending into the background? All you see is there bright red eye

Any other ideas?

Goto a hobby shop or craft store and buy some different colored construction paper to put behind your tank. If you find a color that you like then you can paint that color on for a more professional looking background.
