Hoping you guys can help me out ! I just finished my hardscape tank for a RD and Cons, im wanting to put sand in to finish it off but im not sure which color would be best....Black, White or Golden ? The cork bark in the middle will have some fake ivy wrapped around to make it look like its growing around a tree. I can change the rocks if the gray doesnt match.

Any advice ?

I was thinking about black sand but i think with the black background and dark wood it would look really dark ? Would the pool filter sand not make the fish's color look "washed" ?

I personally like the look of pool filter sand, it has a great natural look to it. And it's $15 for 50 pounds at Leslies Pool Supply!

i agee 100%,recently switched all my tanks to pool filter sand and love it,all look really natural and my fish look great over the natural color.
when i had black sand all my fish stayed pretty dark.

My 125 has pool filter sand, in my 120 I mixed some black sand in with the pool filter sand nice salt n pepper look

i agree PFS looks good,if too light for you, then you can mix in some darker/black to tone it down.i also saw a tank on here recently that has quickcrete all-purpose sand, some larger grains and darker overall.i can't find it in my home depo!

stevenjohn21 Did you buy your bamboo at that size if so where and if not how long did it take to get it there also what kind is it? Would possibly make an interesting background if you had enough of them .....
