What color sand?

So it was definitely the white-ish sand making them look dull. I moved the tank two days ago and left it bare bottom after the move. Without the white sand, they are stunning now, for their size!

So I think I've decided that I want to go with a dark red sand. It needs to be smooth so that it doesn't irritate the eartheaters mouths/gills when they're sifting through it. Where can I find something like this, at a decent price?

Wow, she's so pretty!!! How old?

It had to have been my substrate, besides the water that's the only thing that changed.
Either way I wanted to go with a dark red substrate, but don't know where to find a smooth grained sand at a good price. Anybody?
