He's always preferred high temps - as do us Floridians! :)
There is 400 gph of filtration on his 25 gallon and an airstone.
Well, he let out a looooooong one finally! :D Just not normal color - but he's only been nibbling peas for the past month so... It was clear/light green tint. We figure this is a good sign? He had to release something! We did another 1/3 water change - amonia is <.25, nitrite is 0 but looks like an oh so slight tinge above, ph holding around 8.2 and nitrate <5.
Since he went from decorating the tank like mad and eating about 6 slices of zuccini a day plus a tetramin, peas and wood chips - we are bound to have some bacterial die off...! We figure we were over feeding him!
Hopefully (all Energies to our beloved Plecy!) he will improve everyday and as soon as the bacteria seem ok we will get the 65 gallon and seed it with the 2 filters from the 25 and add an aqueon 75 that we have ready & waiting! We were going to get the tank around xmas!!! But the store was having ordering issues. Then this happened...
We are nervous about catching him...!
But it will probably stress us out more than it will him!!!
We're thinking of coaxing him into a big plastic pitcher and then "pouring" him into the new tank...
Thank you for all responses, thoughts, ideas, advice etc!
