What could go wrong?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well in the convicts case, he's about to really slow because of how big he is. Expect his growth to be slow from here on out.
He'll hold his own.
There is no need to divid them. Let them utilize them 6' tank. If they don't start kicking the hell out of each other and you take care of the water, they'll all grow.

Should be fine with enough hiding spots, separate them when they get to breeding size, about 4 inch for most convicts 3 inch

2-3 caves per cichlids, weekly 50-70% WCs....check on every fish everyday, nipped or torn fins are not always an issue, but missing scales or obsessive bullying can be. A lot of times when you find a fish missing scales it can be too late, try catching it early on and move them to a breeder net or use a divider or move to new tank.

Good idea moving that Oscar....they are not built to hang with the RTs at all.....even some of the less aggressive fish you have will lay the smackdown on an Oscar

Ya he was just staying away from them and you could tell he was the weakest link. I can't wait to grow him out so my son has a wet pet. When he hits 8" I will be replacing the 55g in my sons room for a 90g. My son is two now so when he turns 3 next winter he is going to have a badass Oscar in his room.

3 is a good age.....I was 2 1/2 - 3 when I started reading about dinosaurs and fish and animals. Great way to get a kid interested in learning to read early is finding something he really likes and wants to learn about. Dinosaurs are perfect because you can't exacty go see them at the Zoo or Aquarium.....if you want to learn about them you have to read or get lucky and catch the occasional educational programs.

LOL He'll be doing his own WCs by age 4.
