My jade goby is doing really well with severums.
Although, he's also doing well with oscars. and jack dempseys. He's a really tough goby.

Maybe a florida gar....they grow 18 to 20 inches and stay that size for awhile. They may max out around 36 inches though, but I have seen Marbles get that big too.

I could get such a nice flowerhorn but it's aggressive as hell.. bit a sponge in half (that was in my hand) while I was cleaning it's tank.. so I think it would kill my goby LOL
Maybe if I grew one up and put him in when he's a bit smaller things will be okay?
Florida Gar sounds good too.. I am upgrading to a bigger tank soon so they will be good for a long time. When I need to I'll figure out how to upgrade again.
I am getting a 40 gallon with heater, filter, lights and stand plus a 20 gallon for my Oscar, a cell phone and a 16gb memory card for camera's. Should be picking it all up tomorrow so we'll see what I decide to throw into that 40 gallon. The 20 gallon is going to be my purple spotted/zig zag eels new home.

lolwut? I'm not upgrading to a 40 gallon, that is what I am using to grow a fish up to cohab with my Goby :l *facepalm*
I am trading the Oscar for a 40 gallon with a bunch of stuff and a 20 gallon. Then I am going to get something crazy and grow it up in the 40
I never said that's the only tank I'm going to lol. My tank is bigger than that! that would be a down grade.. I wouldn't do that to my Goby.
Again I am upgrading to 100 - 125 gal soon, Whatever I think my floor can hold
