What could i put in my 90 gallon tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i think you'd be okay with a couple native panfish, people can argue there's not enough room or whatever blah blah blah if you go catch em yourself while they're small and 2-3" long ur taking away the risk of em getting eaten by a bass or catfish a least. If you can go catch some mudbass or warmouths or maybe some redbelly shellcrackers those would all be good quality 'mancave' fish - and none of em are even gonna come CLOSE to not being able to turn with a 2' width

we don't have mudbass wrmouths or redbelly shellcrackers here. I have no idea what they are.

Local fish here are
largemouth bass (too big)
smallmouth bass (too big)
bluegill
catfish (too big)
yellow perch (***)
rainbow trout (too big)
a few other trout (too big)

I was just browsing around the forums and found crayfish. I would love to set up a crayfish tank. But what ive been reading, they are very territorial. Would i be able to have more if i gave a lot of hiding places? Do crayfish breed in aquariums

Not with the footprint. They need the length and width to move. You are talking about fish that will grow to a foot or more. You could have 1,000 gallons, and if the tank were no longer than 24" ,and no wider than 26" ,you would still have the same limitations. With that foot print, you need to be thinking of fish that can be housed in a 29 gallon for life.

i have a 29 gallon tank upstairs and the footprint im planning is almost exactly 2 29 gallon tanks side by side.

nobody ever answered me about an eel. Any good options for eels?

^^ really? the only bream you have around there are bluegill? that's crazy, we have all kind of muts around here..

i guess theres crappie. There might be one or two more panfish.

i looked up those mudbass, and there looked pretty cool. Don't suppose youd mail me one if i paid you?

alligator gar, smallmouth bass, peacock cichlid, Pearlscale goldfish or any kind of carp I think would look really cool and exotic too! I hope this helped

somehow im thinking you didn't read the rest of the thread. I don't know about the last few, but an alligator gar or smallmouth bass wouldn't be anywhere close to fitting, by a long shot

i doubt it'd live and i have no idea how to go about sending something live like that... if i were you i'd just go fishing with some small worms or even corn out of the can for bream and fish until you catch one you like, even some bluegills have a better look than others so it's all a matter of preference

im thinking about going with a couple crayfish and a couple bluegill. I think theyd be a good fit and the tank wouldn't need to be heated

yeah true, i've kept both just never together i used to keep cray's in a 10 gallon, had a couple get HUGE (we're talking probably 5" carapace and 3" claws) i was always too paranoid the crays would eat anything i put in with em
