How many species of pikes do you have? And how many from each species? Sizes? Let us know! We are a 'rare' breed so to say...not many people keep pike cichlids, so we have to stick together and help support each other. Thankfully, people are FINALLY starting to recognize and appreciate pikes for the awesome fish that they are! Anywho, I'll start off, but tis subject to change since I'm constantly lookin for more, new pikes! :woot: Anywoot, I have:

3 - Crenicichla sp. 'xingu II'
3 - Crenicichla sp. 'cobra'

My pikes range from 4" to almost 7". When I moved them almost a month ago now they were in the 3.5" to 6" range....and I have been power feeding them...haha.

soon my friend, soon.

I guess I will go next

Crenicichla sp. cobra x4 6" to 9"
Crenicichla xingu I x4 3" to 4"
Crenicichla xingu III x3 6" to 7"
Crenicichla ???? x2 10" as soon as I can get a good pic maybe be identified
and 2 more coming in the next week or 2

thanks for the interest

this post made me get out the tape measure....seems they were bigger than I thought....LOL

Hahaha...definately get pictures of your mystery pikes....be glad to help yaz try to ID them. Any ideas what they might be? Are they Lugubris pikes or Saxatilis? Noice!! I wish i still had my Crenicichla marmoratas and my two other cobras...lol.

2x Semifasciata, full grown adults, male 10" and smaller female
1x what seems to be a Vittata, around 6"

Thanks, but I love Roger. He makes me laugh!

Funny you post this today because I just got my first and have no clue what kind, but I am pretty sure that due to a quick lesson from peanut, it is a she and a saxitilis pike. She is around 5" and got kind of beat up on her tail (missing half the fin) but showed the nicest colors, including a orange belly, so I went with her for a reasonable $8.99. Peanut maybe you can start the ID session with me please.

P.S. Peanut thanks for the months of pike encouragement it finally paid off. ;)
