What did you build today?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The bolt cutters were probably OK. Higher end locks frequently have case hardened or carburized clasps. Same with the bolt cutters. Unfortunately there isn't a pair of bolt cutters that can cut a hardened lock. I've destroyed more than one pair. But an angle grinder with a diamond blade will work every time (just don't buy them from Harbor Freight, lol).

It was a standard combo lock, not carbide or anything. But youre right in that boltcutters usually dont last longer than a couple dozen locks before cracking or coming apart ime. Idk just seems to me like almost anything at harbor freight is poor quality but cheap, just good enough to get through one or a couple jobs.

This is the original sump. The new one is a drastic improvement.
I totally forgot about the under gravel filter. I don't believe that I completed setting it up. If I put air to it, it was only briefly.

I wasn't getting any wet/dry action with the BioBalls, and I was planning on upgrading to scrubbies...
This is what 200 scrubbies looks like.

And this is the sump today. The plants have been removed, the BioBalls are in their place, and reactors are in the front refugium. The larger reactor was just a smidge too large to fit in the side chamber.
