I think in atleast Indiana teens as a whole are not as thankful for what they have... they feel it is owed to them, and that they should get more... Maybe it is a lack of church, parenting, love, or whatever... it is true. There are plenty of good kids out there but as a whole...this attitude is the mainstay...

and it is a disappointing one...

hardly...I deal with a LOT of very promising young people every day. Re-read this thread VERY carefully and do read ALL of it...The ...OMG...MY life and MY perrants suck...whinning started WAY before anyone posted a single negitive thing about teens. What your doing is trying to justify the actions of a spoiled brat who thinks the world..and MOM and DAD owe them something. I show a LOT more respect for someone who can return the favor...

Things are different now days, things are always different from generation to generation. If it wasn't life would be dull. Kids muture alot faster now days even if the older generations don't want to believe it. Who knows, in years to come 13y/o a slipknot may be ok, but know I think its unappropriate if there isn't a parent present or if the parent says no.
that sounded much milder,no offence to you pixymac but a bunch of old frs are sure gettin bent over a thirteen year old,hey pixymelt,do you not live close to the surf or not interested, you guys do have alot of shark attacks,it sounds like your out in the country, not into dirt bikin or anything like that,i love listening to metal before i go surfin, pumps me up you know, dont think when your older you wont still get roughed up at shows, always someone tougher, even if your folks knew you could handle it,they would look bad to other parents if they let you go,it would kindof cause a chain reaction of haters and trust me things would get wors,oh you said you were into some martial arts, whats that style like.

I only follow their rules if i live under there roof, Like my dad said before we got into this fight when i was talking to him "I don't care what you do when you move out, but when you live in my house, under my roof you have to follow my rules."

I hear the exact same thing from my dad, and I usually follow his rules.

Think of it this way: I never asked to be in this world, they're the ones who put me in this world, They do owe us something in a away

"I show a LOT more respect for someone who can return the favor..." I help around the house when needed, I help my father in the shed when he is building something when he doesn't ask for any help, I clean the gardens for my parents and i'm not asked to, Is that not returning the favor?

I agree 100%, they owe it to you to raise you correctly in a manner which is appropriate in accordance with society and their views.

they should know its not all about them anymore but dude, your parents still have a click and ppl who think they are cool and they have their own minds and ideas that arent too far out, give them their lives too, kick back and learn about them more, talk to them about life and when they used to go to shows or school or whatever god dang how long have we been on this thread, later bros.

I think its pretty annoying how all of the "adults" in this thread are talking down about todays kids. It is a stereotype by saying all kids are spoiled and bratty. I dont want a flame war but I think it is pretty rude.
