There is no clown loach, perhaps you meant the pleco. I have never had a pleco eat eggs, and have had thenm with many convict and firmouth spawnings. I can't see any reason to move them to a 10 gallon. If you moved them into that small tank the 4" male could destory the smaller female.

My bad. Ive never heard of a clown pleco and thought he meant a clown loach. As far as moving them to a 10 gal is up to him. I was speaking from my experience of breeding several convicts each pair having their own 10 gal tank. Yes it is a small setup but then again i wasnt breeding for resale or for entertainment. It was for food, lol(for my fronts). I would average a minimum of 75 eggs each spawn. I finally gave them away to a fellow mfker and he still breeds them to this day for food purpose aswell.

Well, before reading your reply and some of the other recent ones, I went ahead and moved the pleco. I figured I was alright though. I knew other catfish would eat the eggs, but I didn't think small plecos would (I could see a larger common pleco eating the eggs). No big deal, the clown pleco just has a much larger home now.

I just did a 70% water change, and rearranged, giving the convicts another cave. I will feed small portions of frozen bloodworms several times in the next day. We will see what happens.

As said before, if you were to move a 4" con in a 10G, it could so easily kill his girl. Plus a 4" con in a 10G is a tight fit IMO.

Yeah. I am not considering moving them. They will stay in the 28.
