In all my years working in pet shops, I've never seen this. The holes seem so perfectly centered on each scale. Maybe a parasite, or something to do with it's lateral line, need more info on how the fish is acting. What kind of fish is this anyway?

it kinda looks like the aro is rubbing on something or kinda like it is shedding its slim coat or it is been 'ruffed up'...my aros got something like this on them were i handled them after a tank move...should see if there is ammonia or nitrite in the tank that would make it want ro rub on something...

the holes are its lateral line...it is an asian aro and the problem is the whiteish coating on it...

The wate parameter is 0 all across. He been doing a lot of water change. As far I know there is no object in the tank to rubb on. Tank mate are frt, parrot fish, abino clown knife, kelberi, ATF. Now the aro sit at the bottom of the tank most of the time and stop eating even meal worms.

Do u guys think stress cause this. It happened after he got move to smaller tank.

It could be stress. Is he using a water conditioner when he does water changes, or is he on well water? Perhaps its a chlorine type burn?

Honestly though, his nitrates should still be something more than 0 in a cycled tank. Even with all the water changes. Does he have a ton of plants?

The holes are his lateral line, and nothing to worry about. All aro's have those. To me it almost looks like his slime coat is coming off and his scales are becoming more fragile. I believe Prime helps build up slime coat.
