Gonna try it the oscars can always go in my other tank if needs be. They are really placid so will give it a go as it won't get to the point of been a problem, the guy at the lfs selling the stingrays bread the himself and them 2 oscars used to belong to him so ray ray won't be anything new to them.

thanks for the replies, the smaller fish are going in my other tank which is ready and waiting, stocking that will depend on how the male motoro takes to the oscars. the tank is a 6x2.5x2 (220gal) so after the 4 months of research, will be large enough for this ray for a year or so..
