So I stripped the demasoni mother today, she released 11 healthy swimming fry, they still had a fairly large sac but were very active. Since I had my tank apart trying to catch her I also stripped my pearl mutt. She released 24 fry. The problem is that they are not fully formed and the egg sac is red. The pearl mutt fry move they just don't have a lot of fish meat on them. They probably Need a few days to catch up to the demasoni fry. So all in all I got 18 yellow labs, 11 demasoni, and 24 pearl mutt cichlids. I don't think all of the pearl mutts will make it as I don't have a tumbler and all the fry are in the same 10g tank.
Good news is that the demasoni female started eating right away, I am waiting to see if the pearl mutt will do the same. My experience shows that a mom that starts eating the same day will survive and if not got too stressed and will probably die off. I am hoping she pulls through.
