You have to realize you are messing up the balance with that mindset.
How?

I don't keep enough to mess up anything. Besides the bigger sunfish would have more eggs then the smaller ones.

As far as the preditors go, have you ever seen a public lake with to many big preditors? You would only see that in a private pond. I only keep preditors when looking for a fish fry. But again I let the big ones go and keep smaller ones to eat. (less polution)

if its at a pond that gets stocked by the state on a weekly basis, then Catch. Besides if the fish is small then toss him or use him as bait.hahaha.

Yes i have actually, its right down the street from me. For the last 7 years the bass population has been getting out of control. Shad are stocked every summer but are decimated. No one has seen a crappy in 2 years, and the panfish are dwindling. Also the bass are stunting as in the average fish is 12 oz.

yea u should keep some small predator fish, this balances out the numbers through selective harvest infishermen did a great job at explaining how this works. but keeping fish isnt fun lol for me, half the fun is fighting a monster, then reviving it and letting it swim off safely. it just looks awsome! i did that with my first trout i caught in the ken lockwood gorge and my largest fish, a 53 in cudda and i just get a high from the feeling that i released the fish safely:headbang2

Time to eat some bass, if you find a sunfish in there it should be huge.
Yeah the ones that are still around are like a pound a piece.
