so i'm thinking of downsizing down to 2 main tanks.... ive already downsized once since i fouund out we where haveing a kid... now our daughter is 6 monthes old i find myself w/out the time/money/ energy to keep so many tanks. most of our fish we got before i even found out i was pregnant but i have aquired a few more since. so...mheres a run down of what i have.. and what i think will go and what i intend to keep... suggestions/comments would be appreciated...

sell/rehome

clown knife
aba aba knife
black leopard eel (smallest one and most recently aquired one)

keep

florida gar x2
cuban gar
black leopard eels x2
reticulated stingray x3

others

endlicheri bichir x2
starry night eel ( atm in the babys community tank... not sure if he's going to outgrow the 37t or not)

so in a nutshell i plan on keeping my gar tank as is.. and the stingrays in the second tank. atm we have 6 tanks set up and i really want to get down to 3.. 2 big ones in the basement and the babies upstairs ( i am thinking of xfering the comm into one of the 40bs that would be empty)

what would you guys keep? do?

Ive been in ur shoes minus a baby, but still, i downsized to one main tank and kept my piranhas, all my resources time and energy go into this tank and it is much easier to handle and its always clean but recently i couldnt help but pick up a 1/2" rhom so im back at 2 tanks, ive maxed out at 5 before and that was a job!

Id keep the cuban and the rays if i were u!

i got to that point i had 7 tanks set up in my room in my apartment from 75 down to 10 gallons, i realized how absurd it was and ended up downsizing pretty well, went down to a 46 and a 10 but eventually found a good deal on a 90 so now i have the 90 and 10 gallon, with 2 tanks running it is really easy to keep up with the maintenance and i enjoy the tanks more that they aren't stressful to maintain. best of luck!

Life is all about compromises.

I think you are doing the right thing. 2 big tanks are less work than say 6 smaller tanks of same total gallons.

Wow EXACTLY the same as me. 1 90gal 1 10gal growout! I love wc in my 10 takes like 12 seconds!

I would keep the aba aba knife. Visitors to your home who are not into fish would probably find the aba aba quite entertaining.

the aba always does get the " what is that?" but he also needs his own large tank... and is only getting bigger. but hes probably going to sit around until we find the right home and not just the first person with cash in hand. we raised him from about 3".
