what do you feed your bichirs, these days?

they look like senegal bro, pls dont mix your bichirs with the cat fish, no good.
The problem with frozen crickets is they stay floating, they dont sink. But dont worry about that, because bichirs are able to scent them.

i just wanna show you a 5KG cat fish, caught by an uncle at a pond beside restaurant that i usually eat there..heheheheheheheh...:D:D:D

but IF i mix them with the cat fish, what will happen?
i will try to feed them with live crickets first..
but what is the problems that i will face when i use live one?
like the crickets will easily die in my captivity, or something like that..:D

well, most types of catfishes in asia, specially the one that you posted, will get HUGE and they grow really fast. They will eventually eat your bichirs or else they'll bother your bichir.
I feed my congicus live baby catfishes before. I used to put lots of them in the tank, but those baby catfishes ended up eating the tails of my congicus :irked:, no good. A friend of mine also did the same, but his bichirs had grown really fast. I'll put some pics of this baby catfishes next time I visit the lfs here; I'm sure you can find them in malaysia.
Honestly speaking, in my opinion, bichirs grow faster with gold fish. But lots of people hate gold fishes as they may contain lots of bacteria. But I dont mind because I always quarantine them prior feeding to my bichirs.
Regarding crickets, some times your bichir will not finish their meal, and they will left alot of mess floating on the water, but thats ok, as long as you dont give them too much.
But also, try different food, lots of variety are good for their diets. You can also try earthworms which are also good for their growth.

I was going to do the same, but I just cant trust the fish market in my area.
