I have a 3.5" channel catfish and I'm not quite sure what to feed him. I have tried worms and he likes them, it's just he never eats right away when i put food in there and the worms can inch their way under the gravel and die. When i had a bass, i would leave minnows in there over night since he would only kill them in the dead of night when I am sleeping, but I don't wanna go to petco to get minnows all the time for something I won't get to see eat. Any other suggestions on good foods for him?

I feed my blue channel cat shrimp pellets. he gobbles em right up. I bought him he was about 3-4", hes up to almost 10 now...and that was only about 2 months ago!

They eat anything and everything !

exactly! he'll eat brine at times, too. mine also tears up some bloodworms, and I've even seen him eat my Angelfish's flakes at times lol.

Just make sure the pieces are small enough. Right now his mouth isn't that big. Ours liked pieces of shrimp and fish filets.

i have a channel cat and i feed him anything from worms. A hot dog now and then (whole) mabye once twice a month in on feeding. Left over chicken or meat scraps the kids would not finish. I usually feed him a seafood medly ( crab, shrimp, ocotups, clam ect...) i buy from sams club come in a big bag mixe together, and he also eats the cichlid pellets that i throw in. He is about 2ft now.

Considering that he will eat anything. Shrimp pellets, any type of sinking pellet, and soon prawn.

Shrimp pellets worked well for my bullheads, as did feeder fish (home bred mollies, gambusia, guppies), worms, the occasional pinky mouse (thawed, usually rejected by a finicky baby snake), persimmons, peas, krill, crayfish, and crickets/insects. They liked hikari pellets but it stunk up the water too much.

i feed my 8" channel cat massivore and shrimp loves em both same with my rtc x tsn
