Tetra cichlid floating sticks, nightcrawlers a few times as well as big blood worms and pieces of fish fillet at times. I only feed him five days out of seven usually but those times until he is full.
RD's post above I brought home some skretting salmon pellets but he would just snap at them when they hit the water and they would sink past him while he searched the top of the tank for them.
