What do you feed your large Jag's

It seems that Hikari Cichlid Gold is the favourite as a staple then! I already feed my other fish that apart from the JD because he just wont eat pellet, the last attempt I gave in after 2 weeks as he was getting seriously thin.

I have the floating type, I guess that is what you guys are using?

My Jag is about 9-10" what size do you rekon I need? Medium or Large?

I've only had him two days and he hasn't eaten anything while I've been watching, seems hungry as he is looking around for food and has eaten half a giant danio and convict but doesn't even look at the pellet.

He was getting beaten up by another Male at the LFS that was about 15"!! So he fins are a little bitten but I'm sure they will re grow? What do you think?

Here he is:

hikari cichlid gold large pellets.

Ya Brady I agree, I NEVER EVER give him Krill first, its always pellets FIRST, a usual meal is around 4-6 pellets.

But sometimes he gets fussy, will eat 2 pellets, and gum the 3rd one spitting it out, sucking it in, and making a mess.

When that happens, its a NO-KRILL DAY, and his 2nd meal is again the pellets.

I will never forget that female WC JAG I had, what a nightmare as far as feeding.

I wanted to try some of those frozen Hikari Silverside fish, but I'm so afraid that he will stop cold on the pellets, so I am not going to try them.

Thanks for all the input chaps I now have a full menu to offer him :) and he ate some of the hikari gold yesterday after my oscar had spat it out for him, he is still too shy to get it from the top.

a mix of hikari brands even the koi hikari because its cheaper. It works.

Just to add to the large amount that have already said this, but hikari gold is the daily feed for mine and gets treated to some frozen blood worm occasionally which he absolutly loves. A couple of occasions some small feeder fish have been put in the tank and they normally last a few days before they're all caught.
