what do you feed your puffer?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
look what I've found this morning, certainly I've never thought that this would happened in my tank. If the rest of the snails in the tank continues to lay eggs like this, then i dont hv to worry about buying them anymore. Maybe you guys can do the same.

Yeah, i have single female apple snail who has laid eggs randomly over the period of one year... although the eggs in my tank are definitely infertile, you should have more luck in that department with so many snails on one tank...

as I read it from the web, these eggs should hatch within 2 weeks, so still hopefully, they will.

My sisters BF put his figure 8 puffers in my piranha tank. when they started to dwindle. 2/9 were put in a 150G Tank with 8 (6-8"). After they were eaten it started with ich finrot and then clout. when they got here, they swam partially above water and would swim the length of the tank until they smashed into the other end. He fed the puffers freeze dried shrimp, Brine, and other miscellaneous items.

I also tried clams before, but my mbu didn't like it much. I think because the shell was to hard for him to break at his current size right now, but soon as he grows, he would be able to crush the shell, still hopefully..

the first time we fed them clams, we realized their mouth wasn't big enough yet to get a good grip on the shell to crush. We then opened the clams up, and while they did eat the meat, they didn't seem seem all that exited about it. Now mussels, shrimp, and crayfish, those they attack with a vengeance!

this may sound awkward, but I heard people here give pork's fat to their puffer occasionally, making me wonder if its healthy or not?

Absolutely not! Fatty foods are the fastest way to give your puffer fatty liver disease & early death.

i dunno, it's not something i'd even feed myself, let alone my fish :/

Never heard of it, and even if it's proven to be good for them, i probably still wouldn't do it.
