What do you guys think

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It depends how fast they will grow. Silvers aren't as flexible when turning as other species so I've read. What dimensions make up your 150?

They're more flexible actually

looks nice though. Hope you upgrade fast.

I know I myself are just learning tons about these amazing fish I'm not talking about you tho it's bderick that person discourages anyone with a small tank yes I know this tank is small for them and the least they should be in is a 180 or so but thanks for your "constructive critism"

He may do that but its for good reason. These fish demand respect from whoever keeps them. Its one thing to just say your gonna upgrade. Your aros could outgrow a 200+gallon in a year or 2 depending how well their living conditions are. Your fish look heathy and happy but that's really not enough especially for a site like this with so many aro keepers. Not bashing just letting ya know what I think

Thanks Fenton and rwell they might by going to a pond sometime in the future but I'll be sure to upgrade from the 150 and bderick you only discourage people because they have small tanks but i don't care and my aros are happy and never fighting so yea

Well now you get what I think. You've had these aros in a 29g for over 6 weeks :screwy: Strange though, a couple weeks ago you claimed they were in a 125g:liar:. You can talk all you want about 500g tank in a couple years, but the fact is you've done nothing in the last 6 weeks, have you. All the while your two arowana get to spend another month in a 29g :duh: Really, your plan is to keep rapidly growing 7" arowana in a 29g tank for near 3 months? On top of that your trying to find a black aro to add into the mix:(

I would hope that I discourage anyone on else from practicing this type of nonsense.

I am bd's side on this I'm not trying to be rude or pessimistic but the cost of buying and setting up a big enough tank for a full-grown aro is alot higher than most people realize unless they have already set one up... Now saying that I hope that you do get your upgrades as planned... The bigger tank you give them the faster they grow ime... When mine went from a 180 to the 750 gallon pond growth just skyrocketed I also feed my fish really well which costs alot too... The problem with the negative responses is that we have time and time again on this site and others see people buy fish and say that they are going to upgrade by they can't afford it or just don't care too the reason bd other members and I get upset by these things is that we actually care about the animals alot and get upset by people mistreating them I have seen some of bd's setups in the past and he goes above and beyond to make sure that his animals are taking care of in the best way possible so don't get mad when some one questions you just prove him wrong and grow that aro out in a big tank he would be happy if you did prove him wrong we all would
