i have a Vieja heterospilus, in my 180 with a jag,festae,butti,stingray,2bluedolphins and a ornate bichir and a endi bichir. the Vieja heterospilus is a quite peaceful veja and he/she doesnt mess with anyone nor do they mess with him/her. dont recommend it but works for me.

I have a 10 inch Blackbelt in my 240 with an arowana, african pike, buttikoferi, midas, jag, freddy, loiselli, oscar, tex, jd, and a dovii (temporary).

150: barred midas' and 2 vieja argentea's

Depends on what vieja. Regani are quite peaceful and can't hang with more aggressive fish, while maculicauda are downright nasty, and then there is everything in between.

Agree 100%. I think the Maculicauda is one of the most beautiful Vieja but just waaayyyy to mean for keeping a "family"...

My primary interests now are bifa's, argentea, regani, and synspi. I'm curious what people are stocking both within and beyond the genus.

You should be able to do all of them with the right space. Some of the Argentea are very aggressive and some are not. My Bifa is angry but controlled so not much of a worry. Consider a Bocourti, and a Guttulatum too! Beauties!

Keep one of my syns with a pair of jags, a Black Belt ( Pansy of a fish has no aggression) and a Dovii.

Also I have a Hartwegi and another Synspilum with a Giant Midas and an Istlanum.

lastly I have a Zonatus, Argentea and a Cutteri together.

Not sure about you guys, my pair of fenesratus appears to be quite peaceful.
They have been together with an Oscar and a convict(quite a fin-nipper).

I recently checked the web and found about their temperament which appears to be "aggresive"

Perhaps I got an odd pair.

I try to never keep fish of the same genus together, whether Vieja w Vieja or Parachromis w Parachromis. This doesn't mean aggression won't happen, but more likely when fish of the same shape or color are kept together that death will occur when maturity arrives.

Right now I have Vieja breidhori with Parneetroplus, Theraps, Paratilapia and Paretroplus, and only minor fin rippage is the rule.

Hi,thanks for pointing out the thread. But I believe that that is a pink fenesratus which is different from norm one?

I bought my pair fenes thinking that they could where down my JD aggresion. How wrong I was, had to set up another tank for them.

This is the site where I got the info about their temperament .The are other sites but this is one which I bookmarked.

P/s: sorry for going off-topic.
