What do you like better: Manzanita or Malaysian driftwood and why?

I was just wondering how many people prefer Manzanita branches over Malaysian driftwood. I think they can both look awesome with the right pieces and setups. Here are some cool looking designs I found online:

For me, Malaysian drift would would be a big expence.

Beings how Manzanita is a native tree in Arizona, I can drive to where it grows, dies out naturally and get my own pieces. Farmers and ranchers clear areas where it naturally dies out in their fields. They gather it in large brush piles and let it decay back into the ground. All I have to do is drive up to the person's home and get permission to remove the Manzanita from their field. Yes I would have the cost of my time and gas money, but the cost is substancially less. Plus, I have a greater selection to choose from than going shopping for it from a retailer.
