What do you prefer? Raising small cichlas, or purchasing large?

Yeah, I really don't mess around.. A lot of work though... You know your a MFK'er when you have to mix your dried food in 50gal rubber-made bins bro.. and have a entire freezer just for seafood for feeding your fish...Not to mention my 2600gallon pool that is a giant fish tank...You try explaining to the kids why they can't go swimming in the pool...lol:nilly:

3 inches or larger, if there smaller than that, there too frail.......
 
I prefer to raising small ones. I feel that how you treat them can completely change their personalities. I also feel you can grow on them more. Also love raising small fish and their growths amaze me!

Understandable. My two I have now were probably less than an inch. They're doing great today!

I like raising em from juvies.
THis way you get to see all the different stages of growth.
But sometimes its nice to pick up one that has been grown out
already. I too hope to raise my own fry soon. Just gotta get a new tank.
