What is the source of your fish? I have bifas and syns both growing out. I got mine at ACA in Chicago and I am fairly sure that the guy knows what he was talking about. The syns look like what you think are bifas below. This breeder was a GCCA member who got the fish from some F1s that supposedly came from fish Rusty Wessel brought back at some point. Why do you think those fish are bifas?

I'm sticking to bifas.

I bought my two bifas as "Synspilum". They were, quite obviously, not.

Straightjacket, nice bifas. As I stated and showed pics of young Syns, the black lateral line on Syns doesn't extend up to the gills. I still say Bifa, the only other option I see is Fenestratus, and I don't think it that.
