What do you recommend for filtering a 48" 60g tank?

I got a 60g, 48"x14"x14"

How do you recommend I filter it?

I was thinking maybe an xp 2 or 3, and placing the in take on one end, and the output on the other, or maybe two ac110's but that seems like too much flow on such a narrow tank.

Any suggestions?
 
To calculate volume in gallons... multiple length x width x height... then divide by 231...

Which shows us your tank is 40 gallons, not 60...

I have a few 48" x 18" @ 12" tall 50 gal tanks and they are fine with AC 110s on them... it doesn't overly disturb the pool filter sand on the bottom of the tank...

I think two AC 110s would be fine... or 2 AC 70s...

Canisters are also an option...

You're right, those are the inside dimensions, I never bothered calculating it. What a rip!



I'm leaning twoards an xp3 and a koralia 2 in case of a dead spot.
 
Reading my own post again... I do agree with the above the one AC 110 should be enough. Complimented with a powerhead if needed/desired...

If you like the theory of using two filters instead of one, using 2 AC 70s would probably be best...
 
I vote an ac110. If its not enough or you have dead spots you can always use a power head or get another ac filter.

One question what is the stock ? how many fish and eventual size? etc..
