And when exactly does that happen???? does she need the presence of a male to be somehow estimulated to lay the eggs???.
 
Not really she can lay eggs with out male. It looks like a tube to me also. I would just vent the fish and you would know for sure. But just because it has a kokky head doesn't mean male.

Last saturday i saw this 4" male FH on sale at LFS he was an stunnig FH LFS was asking 115 USD for him this sunday I'll go and if it is still there I'll deffo pick him up...

if you want a female to lay eggs put her in a divider with a male
 
nice fader!!!!!!!! as for the question which one to keep...its simple get another tank or upgrade to a bigger tank.
