What do you think about this stocking?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
BIGGour - those are some high prices. Is the midwest known for that? You can get baby ctenos for $8. around here. BGK - about $20 indeed. Wonder why they are so high everywhere. You wouldn't think so...
Exodons - also high. Seen them about $5 here - Feel bad for you, bro!

Others: Barracuda usually about $20 25 for babies.

Synos are surprisingly expensive - $25 each or so.

Boulengerella are your rarest picks - usually about $20 to $40 each depending on where you go. I have not seen lateristriga offered.

With the FW barracuda any tankmate that's 2/3 the size of the barracuda or less is a potential meal. Also get 3-5 of the red-Taill Cudas because this will disperse aggression between themselves. I see Boulengerella maculata for $20-30 around here

Setup a tank of Ctenopoma, and other mod aggressive species...some nice Geos?

you know what else dont need much hight? bichirs, you know what else? more bichirs. oh and like 5 more bichirs.;)

I havea Pbass, exodons, hujeta's and yellow tails and at one point a red tail barracuda in the same tank with no problems.

Also, I bought 8 exodon's for 2.99 a piece! :D

I would opt out on the Ctenopoma acutirostre for that tank. The barracudas will tear the crap out of them, because ctenos can't move very fast, and they are very hard to find larger than 1-2" for sale. A Pbass will eat a lot of those fish too.

my Ctenopoma are already pushing 6 inches, and by the time i get all the listed fish and the tanks to set them up they should be 8-9 inches.. so thats no problem :)

oops sorry.. you meant the climbing perch.. sorry,, yea i wouldnt mind leaving them out, im on a characins fix tho ^^
