What do you think is the cause?

I forgot to check the tank level once filled though. I'm at the 4th floor though do you think it may contribute to the factor?

Concrete floor, I would assume no issues... Wooden floor.. start evacuating :D

haha.. its a concrete floor.. atleast 1 foot thick and pure cement..

are there cross braces directly underneath the full wooden top?

if so, this could be an issue since the bottom glass panel sat directly on it.

if the wood warped under the weight and the braces were underneath it could easily create large pressure points that could cause the bottom glass to crack.

generally, it is better if the bottom glass is not directly on that kind of a full top stand. acrylic tanks require this though.

I would look at modifying the stand to make it a perimeter type open top. most stands are built this way and its probably a good method to eliminate the possibilty of pressure points because the bottom glass is then floating anyway.

yes there's a cross braces underneath the full wooden top. hmm.. i am wondering if i make it full open top i am not sure if the quality of glass here are the same as your quality though.. :D But if i have removed the full wooden 3/4" ply would that be alright if i stayed the cross brace then? or must remove all the cross brace and the 3/4" ply?
