keep in mind they are built as 'reef ready' tanks so they are drilled with overflows. probably going the sump route anyway on a tank that size, but in case you were not planning on it, thats how they come..

Thats my only consideration as i am not really keen on reef ready tanks. That being said I will definitely be going with a sump.

I would rather order from glass cages and get a better footprint.

What is the better footprint?

310 Square 48 x 48 x 31 Tall$1350
300 Wide96 x 30 x 25 Tall$990
375 - 8 Wide96 x 36 x 25 Tall$1500
personally I would buy the 375 for the same price and get 2 feet extra length.

Nice tank. Seen one in person. But the price turns me off. I don't think I could pay 1500.00 for a 6'x3'.

I see your point in a way but these costs are before shipping. The 375gal is almost the same price but then add $240.00 to pick it up somewhere in Baltimore from their truck and its more. Not to mention tax. Then God forbid if you have a problem and it leaks or is damaged in shipping, then there is no one local to deal with. Finally the store I shop at gives me $5.00 back for every $100.00 spent, which equals $80.00 back to me. Additionally I have never seen a glass cages tank in person. While if I don't like the tank in the store I can leave it there no harm no foul.

In a perfect world your idea would be better but in the real world there are considerations above an extra 75 gallons of water. Lets do the math w/o sales tax for a base price.

Glass cages $1500.00 for tank $240.00 to pick up in Baltimore(shipping to my door would be more)=$1740.00
My store $1600.00 for tank -$80.00 cash back=$1520.00
Difference $220.00 to me.

Add in the convenience of dealing locally -vs- Tn. Seem like a no brainer to me. If i decide to go that way.

Very true.. Also glass cages glass tanks are euro braced. I realize why they do it but for some people it's too gaudy. I had a pre-owned GC tank and I liked it though for what it's worth. :)

Go with the 300 wide then, be about $1250 after shipping, $270 savings for you.

There are still the other considerations, and it is 6" thinner and 2" shorter. Not a better footprint. which is the basis for your response.

What is euro braced? Do you have a pic of your tank?
