alright so i found out that piece of driftwood just took up too much of the floor space in the tank but i am keeping it in case i move up to a larger tank, 75 hopefully but now i am at a standstill i do not know what to do to make the tank look awesome, i have quite a bit of hardscape to work with and a few plants like anacaris, some type of val, and a crypt wendtii i just dont know what to do to utilize the height of the tank

with cichlids. They will be doing the aquascaping of their choice not you.

I'd keep it natural somewhat like you have it. Maybe focus on a certain type of biotope setting you want and then shoot for that...

I agree that the background needs to be painted black. This will help camouflage the filter intakes.

I like the recent feedback but the tank has been redone since this setup, now it is a heavier planted community for a couple of angels and a group of clown plecos

well i was away for three weeks because of school and returned to a tank that was out of control on plant growth, i will post updated pics on sunday because I do not have the usb cord to hook my camera to my laptop and then i will have a new setup on sunday because my tank is going to college with me
