Quarantine Tank
For those of you with monster tanks, what do you usually do during your big water changes?

Im usually doing luandry, surfing MFK, cooking, reading, or taking a nap. j/k

Thou the other day I was chatting with Neo and lost track of time, one of my tanks almost overflowed!:nilly:

I change water in multiple tanks simultaneously. While I fill up one tank I drain the second etc. Including scrubbing and cleaning the tanks, that keeps me busy.

Same here! It's been twice now that he called me during water changes. That means one of two things (or both): 1) We MFKers do lots of water changes, so anybody calling anytime will inevitably call during a waterchange 2) Neo has a 7th sense for aquarium-related activities.

I guess with my old age I need to sit in front of the tank while it fills.
For like, 5 years now I've been doing water changes, and last week I flooded about 50-100 gallons onto my basement floor.
Why?? Because I was cleaning, WHICH I ALWAYS DO!!
But my ADHD somehow got me up-up stairs and I forgot about it!! UGH!!

Someone buy me a timer!!!:)

Oh, never mind then.

I usually go in the living room and watch TV. From the couch, I can see half of the tank. Plus my 2 cats are SUPER curious, so I have to watch them while I have a chair near the tank with the lids open...

I usually am on here, just like when I do everything else, so nothing gets done. This site has put at least 100 gallons on my floor.

I usually fill the lull time by scraping algae from 20 to 30 tanks. Or, rinsing out a dozen or so sponge filters. After a couple of water change "mishaps", I try to remain in the hatchery while the hoses are on.
