Brackish water is the water in between freshwater and saltwater. It's not as salty as SW, but it's saltier than FW.

true...

oh intresting...so lets say i wanted a flounder which ive been reading so far to be "brackish" water fish, is there any way acclimating it to be a totally freshwater fish?? or would it die on me?

they have fresh water sole's.....haven't seen them in a while....it's pretty much a freshwater flounder but smaller.

This is true... I think it would be ok

ok, this is turning out to be a diffrent thread lol but whats the diffrence between a flounder and a hogchoker?? which one is easier/hardy to care for? i want a bottom dweller that will finish up left over my other fish wouldnt touch anymore, but it also has to be SUPER non aggressive

yeah. Hogchokers are a fw/braksish species of flounder... flounders are a huge group of fish that includes the hogchokers
