Typicly brackish water ocurs where a river or stream meets the ocean or a body of salt water thus creating a mix of salt water and freshwater which is usually any where from 1/4-3/4 as much salt as ocean water
ok, this is turning out to be a diffrent thread lol but whats the diffrence between a flounder and a hogchoker?? which one is easier/hardy to care for? i want a bottom dweller that will finish up left over my other fish wouldnt touch anymore, but it also has to be SUPER non aggressive
Keeping a FW/BW/SW animal in conditions other than what is best for it (like forcing a SW fish to live in BW or a BW fish to live in FW) will lower it's immune system, causing stunted growth, disease, & shortened lifespan.
It's not a matter of where, but rather when. "hogchokers" are seasonal fish, only available at a certain time of year, spring (at least i think it's spring). Supposedly they're generally imported in bad condition and most die within a day of being introduced to the aquarium.
