Really? They end up stunted after that. Get a 75g and start with 6-8. Give it 2-3 years before you upgrade. A 180g ultimately would be a good permanent home.
What I want? Simply more tanks for more snails at the moment. I'm satisfied with my fish but not snails.
thanks to this thread i now want some purple snails
someday id really like to growout some RTCs... id also like them as adults.. but they are just so darn cute when they are like 4".. same goes for some aros and pbass... it would be nice to set up an 1500+ gallon tank and put in a whole bunch of monsters that are all under 6"
id also really like some "fancy" plecos.. L333s and such..
and id also like to get a 300wide planeted tank set up someday..
I have nerites, diffusas, canas, MTS and pond snails. Nerites cannot breed in FW unless you get the European ones which certainly do. As for the last four, I breed them with no effort. I just wanted to add to my collection more nerite species, Sulawesis, assassins and anything else.
hopefully within the next couple months im gona make something along the lines of 200 or 300 gl pond type grow out for some tilapia i want to raise and a 125 tank i mite make that too for the colony of my hope to soon get Talapias . . . i also one day have a nice big enough show tank of peacock bass : )
I already have the first of three tanks i've always wanted, my 125g Mbuna tank.
The other two I still want are a 300-500 reef tank with live corals and fish. The second tank would have to be some sort preditor tank, shark, pc bass, or maybe piranha tank, not sure on that one as of yet.
