What does juvenile Goliath feed on??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In my experience, Goliath eat live. I have had zero success (or no patience) getting one off live :(

Their skittish ways and not aggressive feedings tells me it takes work to wing them off live. Hats off to those that have :D

I used to feed minnows and small comets... the big boy I had I would feed large 4" Comets.

This is what I was told from 2 different Goliath owners a few years back... Have some kind of non eatable Tankmates with him so he will be a Teacher fish to the Goliath. Then slam the feeders on the floor so they are half dead... Once the Goliath eats them, its more than half the battle won. Once he is eating, move on to dead feeders or frozen feeders, getting him used to non moving foods. Then you stuff the feeder with ______ food you are trying to feed. Take it from there until you do not need feeders in the pic.

I tried this for about, Mmmmmm 6 months and threw my hands up w/a 4Sale sign Lol. Never got to first base Lol

G/L and do tell me what method you used (PM or Thread :D)

Small guppies for a start, Goliath grows very slow, and they are fragile when young.
Once they get bigger, you can feed red fish or koi.

Cudas n ATF look very different. Which do you have??

Goliath are not aggressive eaters at ALL. They tend to be more brave during the darker hours of the day in my experience.

Pics pics pics and you will get a ID on the fish :D

Believe he says that he has both kuda & gatf
