What does juvenile Goliath feed on??

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
In my experience with both of these fish, they are triggered into feeding by movement. I've had luck feeding them tilapia cut into thin strips and dropped into the hob filter to push the food across the water/under the water. Worked for me.

i have had luck with goliath accepting cut shrimp. a week or two of starvation is the key imo. smaller tank helps too (55 gals), they become more focused on the surroundings. they even take it off the gravel. just takes some patience and a will stronger than your desire to see him eat.

Try him on Pellets cos When a fish gets MONSTER it will cost you an arm and a leg to feed him.

I agree... My Armatus is still only eating live fish, and I go through about 15 silver sharks a week now. Can't imagine if my GATF gets that big too, and I'd have to double that.
But i still think there's something more natural (and primal) about giving them live.
