What does juvenile Goliath feed on??

In my experience with both of these fish,they are triggered into feeding by movement. I've had luck feeding them tilapia cut into thin strips and dropped into the hob filter to push the food across the water/under the water. Worked for me.

i have had luck with goliath accepting cut shrimp. a week or two of starvation is the key imo. smaller tank helps too (55 gals), they become more focused on the surroundings. they even take it off the gravel. just takes some patience and a will stronger than your desire to see him eat.

my gaft only ate moving food. id drop silver sides and shrimp in the tank so the float down in front of him and hed eventually eat it. it takes several attempts but does work.

You can get tiny white clouds to start off with, at least that's what I did with my cuda when he was only 2.5".

Can u share more details bro? What is yr tanksize, what other tankmates r there? How long have u had the fish

Its around 2.5 inch in a 2 feet tank with 2 adonis pleco around 2 inch.

Mine did pretty well on the Harlequin Rasboros.
Just got more feeders for him today, this time, decided to try Neon Tetras.

I agree... My Armatus is still only eating live fish, and I go through about 15 silver sharks a week now. Can't imagine if my GATF gets that big too, and I'd have to double that.
But i still think there's something more natural (and primal) about giving them live.

Just realised that some of my small feeders were actually being sucked up into the Filter... so now, am not really sure how much he's actually eaten.

I've gotten a repacement filter, and will be turning off the internal filter system (with big grilles) tonight. So then, should be able to tell exactly how much he eats.
