For a while now ive been doing alot of research about fish i want to keep. I think in the near future i want to keep fish i havent had the pleasure to keep yet. I started this by buying 5 festea to attempt a pair or to get the nicest one out of the bunch. They are all 2 inch babies now and their future tankmats include a grammodes, and cuban. But to further this new fish quest i have been researching the following fish, lyonsi, hogaboomorum, istlanum, and the trimac. I hope to own one of these fish to growout with the others for my 150 and next year the 240 i plan on buying new. My current stock in the 75 which includes a 10 inch venny pike, a 6 inch red wolf, and a 4 inch salvini. I am uncertain about what i wanna do with them. I'm going through a phase where i want rarer more colorful cichlids right now. Ive benn keeping fish for almost 8 years now and within the last 3 years i have been taking it more serious and find myself reading about various species everyday and with the help of alot of people on this site who have opened my eyes to alot of fish i never new about. what does your future hold for you and your current or future stock????

Well, I plan on upgrading to a 125 gallon, and having a stock of 4 Blood Parrots, 1 Firemouth, 1 Flowerhorn, and 1 Chocolate Cichlid. I only have to get the Chocolate Cichlid and one more Blood Parrot to complete the stock.

Nothing super special, but I'm still excited. :nilly:

360g 1 Red O (already obtained), 1 Mon Pbass (Already obtained, possibly more added?), 1 Clown Knife, 1 Ornate Bichir, 1 IT Dat, My large school of 13 SD.

Not sure how far into the future.. but eventually 125g (at the least) brackish.. scats and archers.. or just one or the other.. probably the scats.. super biotope!! I get all silly when I think about it...

Where to start, and even more difficult, where to end.

My current stock is up around 72 different species of Cichlids. I have searched in many places to find my stock. The majority of them are still in the 2"- 7" range. But knowing that I will never want to get rid of any of these, I will definitely need a much larger fish room, with much larger tanks.

My dream is to add onto my home a 750-1000sq' addition that will be my new fish room. I want my main show tank to be 12'x4'x4' appx 1500gal. But thats not it. I want to build a 3500 gal pond that is half outside and half inside. And I want it to house the largest Cichlids and other large fish in it.

I also would love to take a vacation to Central Am and experience where these wonderful species come from, learn more about their surroundings, and would love to catch some wild species and bring them home.

This is my dream, but to answer the ? more accurately. My future sees a couple 400 gallon tanks to house these guys as they get larger.

You all will be the first to see my dream come true. :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:

my future in the hobby has me more excited than ever. im moving into a house and gonna start my first true fishroom and am gonna get a bigger tank for my umbee, grow up a dovii pair from my own spawn, get a pair out of my istlanum. and more tanks more tanks. thinking about building my own. i love this hobby!!!!!!

I plan on moving my 4 year old female flowerhorn into my 75g and hopefully get another 4 years out of her.

As far as my umbee goes...if she recovers then hopefully many years of raising an amazing fish, if she doesn't recover then I don't know. I would like another umbee but where I live it's almost impossible to find.

As much as I love my two big Crenicichla lenticulata, I see myself getting rid of them soon because they're dominating my 210g tank and I feel like I'm wasting a lot of space. They're both males so they're never going to spawn, and currently I've only got four tankmates in with them. It's kind of sad to see a 210g tank with six fish in it.

I have a lot of more peaceful stuff growing out, so I'll probably end up focusing on my tank-raised altum angels, discus, Geophagus, and Krobia. Eventually I'd like to try something uncommon like Heroina, if I can ever find it.

Still a ways away but I want to set up a 480g 8x4x2 with asian aro and stingrays... I know, it's been done many times but it's just such a cool combo I have to try it once.
