I have been fortunate to catch this on video so easy to show. Heres a link:
Anybody have a clue what this means? Also this is male behavior I assume? And is this a sign that I need another fish like will this fish become unhappy by itself?
Thanks for any answers and for watching!

Pretty common behavior he is decorating. Serious though male Cichlids will dig and displace substrate.

I edited the first posts link you saw the wrong video tlindsey tlindsey

Yes now that looks like a ready to spawn behavior especially the cleaning of the slate. The problem would be pairing with a female. Most times this is done naturally.

Ahh so like no guaruntee that a female in here would be accepted?
Edit: of coarse not in the ten gallon tank but the 75 gallon is where I would consider adding female but only after learning what the precautions are and how to give them the right environment

You could try but be prepared with either another aquarium or some breeders use egg crate and cut out enough so only the smaller female can swim through. I've personally added a male Kribensis in with a unpaired female and they spawned. The female Kribensis killed the male after he fertilized the eggs. The female killed the original male in the same manner.

Oh wow thanks for sharing! do you have any idea how me switching tanks will effect him making nests and such? Will he be able to be comfortable in a gravel substrate? I ask because he uses his mouth to spit sand and digs his nest in this manner, how will he do this when gravel is too big to fit in mouth?

Tbh I personally wouldn't change anything. If gravel is to large most Cichlids will utilize the aquarium glass or other objects to lay eggs on.

Your tank is too small for an adult breeding pair of Uros. Remember what happened in the 10 gallon? It will be the exact same situation in a 75, once the fish gain some size, especially now that your current fish has claimed the enire tank as his territory. In a 75 gallon, your best bet is to allow this fish to fly solo.
