So I'm working on a trade involving my 150 for a 100 gallon. I can't setup the 150 in my apartment but the 100 is a go since I have a 75 and 30 side by side together. The 100 I would get is 72 /12x18 1/2x 19 3/8. Will this help me in keeping a few more fish if my grammodes allow it? I have freddys and a mayan growing out.

Same foot print isn't it? Would be about the same stock just water quality would be less desirable. Why is it that you can't set up the 150g if it is the same footprint?

the weight is the problem. I'm in a upstairs apartment of a 40+ year old building. Was told the 100 is ok but the 150 which is 700+ pounds heavier is a no go. saving for a house right now but dont know when i will be able to use the 150 again.

should mention that the filtration for the 100 gallon will be 2 emp 400's, cascade 1000, and 2 large sponge filters with powerheads. same filtration i have on my 75 right now. I do 50% water changes weekly. My stock would only include either a grammodes pair or freddys pair plus 1 other fish if the pair allows it.

the fish i currently have are as follows.

75 gallon- grammodes pair
30 gallon growout- 2 la ceiba freddys, 3 bichirs(2 senegal, 1 palmas), and 1 mayan cichlid
46 bowfront growout- red devil, red texas, belly crawler pike

Not planning on keepiing all these fish either. Probly gonna sell the texas, and devil. Not sure if im gonna keep on the breeding path or just keep 1 grammodes, 1 freddy, and the mayan.

Do a 100 gal with a freddy, RD, RT and pike. Keep the 75 with gramms in another part of the apartment.

Im not sure why those guys that own the building arent letting you keep the tanks, the floors in apartments are rebared and cemented... If it will hold cars then its gonna hold your 150...

These floors are wood on the 2nd floor and concrete on the first. To me its really no big deal. I don't want a tank I can't use and I don't want it to sit and have the seals go bad.

I mean I don't look at it as a small tank. Its only a few inches small than a 125 height wise. My 150 is great but I like length over height. So I find the 100 more practical right now.
